He was predeceased by: his parents, Darius Lane and Johanna Lane; his wife Neta Lane; his siblings, Mary, Gertrude, Teresa, Madeline, Kathleen and James; and his in-laws, Daniel and Cecilia Collins.

He is survived by: his children, Neta (Rod), Tammy (Jason) and Douglas Jr. (Samantha); his grandchildren, Ashley (Brent), Randy (Ashley), Brandon and Anna; his great grandchildren, Troy, Colton, Hudson and Holden; his brother Harold Lane; his siblings-in-law, Elios Collins (Ethel) and Pearl Paul (Albert); and his friend Leroy Skiffington (Michelle Skiffington).

A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Roman Catholic Church.
