She was predeceased by: her parents, William Slaney and Edna Slaney; her parents-in-law, Frank and Mary Ann Hillier; her siblings, Bud Slaney, Hubert Slaney, George Slaney, Roy Slaney, Marion Cousins and Susie Fitzpatrick; her brothers-in-law, Anthony Cousins and Henry Philip Hillier; her nephews, Tony Cousins, Randy Fitzpatrick, Stephen Fitzpatrick, James Slaney, Carl Cousins and David Cousins; and her niece Joyce Cousins.
She is survived by: her husband Leslie Hillier; her children, Lynn Downey (Greg) of Grand Bank and Brian Hillier of Fortune; her grandchildren, Wyatt Downey (Courtney), Mark Downey, Theodore Downey, Taylor Hillier, Lucas Hillier and Starla Hillier; her great grandchildren, Skyla, Charlotte and Sullivan; her niece Denise Slaney Walsh; her siblings, Blanche Fitzpatrick (Loyola) and Ron Slaney (Jenny); and her siblings-in-law, Sylvia Large (Mike), Daisy Peters (Tom), Maude Walsh, Ada Follett (Cyril), Eleanor Pell, Grace Olivier, Shirley Slaney, Melinda Collins, Marie Slaney, Bernadette Slaney, George Hillier (Theresa) and James Fitzpatrick.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Wiseman's Funeral Homes - Fortune (168-170 Bayview St #168, Fortune, NL A0E1P0). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
In Margaret's memory donations may be made to the family to be donated to a charity of their choice.
