He was predeceased by: his parents, Randell Mavin and Mary Mavin; his siblings, Harold Mavin, Jack Mavin and Ruth Bernard; and his parents-in-law, Phillip and Bessie Chant.
He is survived by: his wife Nora; his sons, Michael Mavin (Kimberley) of North Carolina and Glen Mavin of Fortune; his stepson Terry Chant (Cathy Follett); his sisters, Vera Strickland, Millie Collier, Frances Thornhill (Charles), Marjorie Penwell (Charles) and Cynthia Conlon (Mark); and his grandchildren, Nicole, Kendra, Erica, Blake and Luke.
