He is survived by: his wife Eva; his children, Brian Gilbert (Marg) of Meadows, Melvin Gilbert of Lower Sackville, NS, Lloyd Gilbert of Hammond Plains, NS, Derrick Gilbert of Lower Sackville, NS and Jane Cluett (Dean) of Lower Sackville; his siblings, Winnie Upshall of Arnold's Cove, Angus Gilbert (Lorraine) of Dunville and Percy Gilbert (Dorothy) of Roddickton; and his grandchildren, Kimberley, Krista Gilbert, Mark, Ryan Gilbert, Mitchell, Devan Gilbert, Joshua and Andrew Cluett.

In Charles' memory, donations may be made to the Blue Crest Bus Fund or the All Saints Anglican Cemetery Fund or flowers gratefully accepted.
