He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Hancock and Blanche Hancock; and his brother Richard. He is survived by: his siblings, Oswald (Burnette), Winston (Donna), Kevin (Shirley), Leah Ireland and Marjorie Hopkins (Richard).

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Balfour's memory to LSHC Hospital Auxiliary, for the Long Term Care.
