He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick McCarthy and Mary McCarthy (Cahill); his brothers, John and Ed; his brother-in-law Joe Thorne; his parents-in-law, Mike and Mary O'Keefe (Condon); his sisters-in-law, Doris Kenny (Bob) and Jean Tobin; and his sons-in-law, Stephen Long and Barry Reddy.
He is survived by: his wife Blanche (O'Keefe); his children, Christine McCarthy-Reddy, Ken (Heidi) and Mike (Debbie Rose); his granddaughter Samantha Dunne (Justin); his children, Connor McCarthy, Allannah Power (Jon), Jayden, Gabrielle Budgell, Lexi McCarthy (Brendon Nilsson), Gabe, Dani and Dom; his great grandchildren, Grace Molloy, Sophia and Isabella Dunne; his siblings, Eugene "Bart" (Marion) and Bertha Thorne; his sisters-in-law, Patricia Brophy and Mable McCarthy; his daughter-in-law Debbie Nelson-McCarthy; and his friend Gord Ryan.
