He was predeceased by: his parents, Goldie Bennett and John Bennett; his siblings, Edmund Bennett and Mildred Bennett (Frederick); his son-in-law Wayne Caines; and his brothers-in-law, Samuel Willette and Henry Payne.

He is survived by: his wife Kathleen; his children, Ernest Payne (Nancy Ellsworth), Anetta Young, Paulette Hutchings (Ray Quenville), Pansy Caines, Johnny Bennett (Vicki) and Myrna Samson (Harvey); his grandchildren, Forward Payne, Darren Payne, Kathy Rose Parker, Michelle (Corey), Leslie (Shawn), Myrna Payne (Alain), Tony Young (Mandy), Shanna Payne, Shane Hutchings, Sheena Hutchings, Crystal Bennett (Darren Welsh), April Bennett (Terrance Byrne), Josie Bennett (Nathan Sontag), Joshua Bennett, Joey Bennett and Evan Samson; his great grandchildren, Jacob, Allison, Kaitlin, Jude, Teagen, Emily, Noah, Everlee, Anna, Brooklyn, Avery, Joseph, Cody, Madison, Brayden, Hennessy, Lincoln and Alexander; his sisters, Margaret Willette and Mona Payne; and his sister-in-law Annie Bennett. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family and friends.

Due to the current Covid-19 Restrictions, a private family service will be held at Parsons Funeral Home Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL, on Thursday, July 30th, 2020, at 2:00 pm with Father Gabriel officiating, with the burial to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in St. Paul's, NL.
