It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Myrtle Mae Elgar (Deer Lake, Newfoundland), who passed away on January 11, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Reginald; her daughter Eliza; her parents, Eliza Rumbolt and Thomas Rumbolt; her siblings, Reuben, Chesley, Lawrence and Doreen; and her in-laws, Daniel, Beatrice Elgar, Jessie Ricketts, Ethel Mckay, Cecile Rumbolt, Effie Kelly, Wilfred Elgar and Donald Elgar.
She is survived by: her children, Clayton Elgar (Ann) and Doreen Romaine (Guy); her grandchildren, Michael Elgar (Tracey), Erin Elgar (Robbie) and Danielle Romaine (Mark); her great grandchildren, Johnaton, Beverly Ann, Faith, Dylan, Jade and Easton; her brothers, Paul Rumbolt (Ivy) and Wilfred Rumbolt (Ethel); and her siblings-in-law, David Rumbolt, May Ropson and Barbara Rumbolt. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Fillatre's Funeral Home (10 Clinic Dr, Deer Lake, NL A8A1E3). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
