He was predeceased by: his former wife Susannah; his brothers, Boyd Sooley (Ethel) and Hector Sooley (Vera); his siblings-in-law, Laura Flynn, Clara Russell and George Russell (Louise); his parents, Frederick Sooley and Florence Sooley (Chislett); his parents-in-law, William T. Russell and Lavenia Russell; his grandson William Snook Jr.; his siblings, Stella Humber and Wendell Sooley; his brothers-in-law, Eldred Russell, Norman Russell, Freeman Russell, Redgeway Russell, Robert Russell, Howard Russell, Thompson Flynn Sr. and Jacob Hill; and his nephews, Stephen Flynn and Eric Humber.
He is survived by: his children, Gary (Mary Jean), Stephen (Nada), Loretta (Darrell), Patsy (Trevor), Karen (Denley) and Russell (Roxanne); his siblings-in-law, Rock Bursey (Cindy), Bob Bursey (Daisy), Brent Bursey, Marilyn Stratton (Ed), Pam Tulk (Lloyd), Sue Simms (John) and Brenda Fudge (Desmond); and his wife Susie Russell. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel (63 Main St N, Deer Lake, NL A8A1X1). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
