He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Dureke and John Dureke of Nigeria; his son John Pelley of Deer Lake, NL; his uncle Chief Osa Dureke of Nigeria; and his grandfather Chief Okonojaku Dureke.

He is survived by: his wife Daphne Dureke; his children, Ernest Dureke (Lillian) of Tralee, Owen Dureke of Tralee, Ita Dureke (Mark) of Richmond, James Pelley (Arlene) of Massey Drive, NL and Christina Dureke (Richard) of Tralee; his daughter-in-law Lori Chynn (Pelley) of Deer Lake, NL.; his grandchildren, Leroy Dureke (Emma) of London England, Lyndsey Dureke (James) of London, Michael Pelley (Arianna) of Saint John, NB, Kelsey Dureke of Tralee, Riana O'Dell-Pelley of Massey Drive, NL, Erin Lansley of Richmond, Cormac Lansley of Richmond and Lorcan Lansley of Richmond; and his great grandchildren, Jade Dureke and Kayden Dureke of Tralee.
