It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bert Hillier Jr. (Deer Lake, Newfoundland), who passed away on January 3, 2020, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary and Bert Sr; his parents-in-law, Betty and Cecil Spracklin; and his brothers-in-law, Wallace Foster and Don Spracklin (May).

He is survived by: his wife Doris; his son Rob (Sherry); his grandchildren, Nathan and Lily; his siblings, Edwin (Gwen), Freeman (Judy), Derek (Dawn), Tom, Aubrey (Teena), Melvina Philpott (Gerard) and Brenda Hillier (John); and his siblings-in-law, Gordon Spracklin (Wanda), Brian Spracklin (Brenda), Beverley Foster, Ruby Welshman (Wayne), Rennie Hollett (Melvin) and Linda Davis (Shawn). He is also survived by nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made too the Canadian heart & stroke foundation in Bert's memory would be gratefully appreciate by the family.

“In loving memory of Bert Hillier Jr., May your heart and soul find peace and comfort. I met Bert many years ago while stationed in Deer Lake with the RCMP. We worked many hours together at Sir Richard Squires Park. Every year since including this past fall it was always a highlight of our trip for Bert to visit us at our trailer near BlueBerry Pond. Bert always had the most wonderful smile and was so positive in everything he said. You will be in our hearts forever, a person to look up to.”
