He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Hutchison and Henry Hutchison; his father-in-law Andrew Kinnaird; his brother-in-law Ugor Samojlenko; and his nephew Stephen Samojlenko.

He is survived by: his wife Moira Hutchison; his children, Christopher Hutchison (Aimee) and Amy Hutchison of Saskatchewan; his grandchildren, Asher, Judah and Abigail; his siblings, Helen Paquette (Donald), Shirley Samojlenko, Pauline Lamothe (Roger), Teresa Young (Rocky), Anne Daley (Lynn), Dorothy Young (Danny), Edward Hutchison (Diane) and Judy Cruise (Leigh); his mother-in-law Christine McCandlish (Gary); his sisters-in-law, Mari Smith, Catriona Charlie (Frank), Fiona Clark (Stuart) and Grace Kinnaird; and his pet Princess (Puss Puss).

In Jim's memory donations may be made to a charity of one's choice or do an act of kindness to someone in need.
