He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander Sheppard and Mary Anne Sheppard; his siblings, James, Henry and Lorna; his brother-in-law James Bungay; and his niece Judy Rogers.

He is survived by: his sister Lillian Bungay; his sister-in-law Matilda Sheppard; his nephews, Craig (Gladys), Darrell (Denise) and Norman (Heather); his niece Colleen (Jerome); his nephew-in-law Bruce Rogers; and his close friend Peter Whittle.
