He was predeceased by: his parents, Stedman Brophy and Rose Brophy; his sisters, Rosetta Robinson (George), Freda Biggin (Con) and Dora Payne (Rendell); his parents-in-law, James Payne and Fanny Payne; and his siblings-in-law, Willie Payne, Rendell Payne, Max Payne, Edgar Payne, Sadie Powell, Blanche Brown, Rachel Gushue, Mary Power and Rhoda Payne.
He is survived by: his wife Effie; his children, Marlene (Danny), Leander (Charlene), Geraldine (Ray), Melita (Ralph), Leslie (Paula), Byron (Jackie) and Nell (Dana); his grandchildren, Christopher, Candice, Justin, Demetri, Matthew, Jason, Katelyn, Jennifer, Brandon and Dylan; his great grandchildren, Natalie, Cameron, Daniel, Wyatt and Caiden; his brother-in-law Kevin Payne (Rowena); his friend Doreen Lodge; and also Elaine Perry.
