It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Winnifred Joan Gilbert (Corner Brook, Newfoundland), who passed away on November 15, 2023, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Young and Florence Young; her siblings, Melinda Burton and Donald Young; her parents-in-law, Cyril and Phyllis Gilbert; and her siblings-in-law, David Tanner, Dave Burton, Maxwell Hodder, Norman Gilbert and Lois Gilbert.

She is survived by: her husband Roy Gilbert; her daughters, Corinne Smith (Ray) and Krista Saxton; her stepchildren, Sonya Gilbert, Jessica Mollon (Desmond) and Dane Gilbert (Heather); her grandchildren, Kyle Smith and Brayden Chester; her stepchildren, Braden Sheppard (Chantal), Ashlyn Gilbert, Aleah Gilbert, Claire Gilbert, Isabella Mollon, Avery Mollon and Beau Mollon; her siblings, Rhona Elliot, Lorraine Penlack (Lee), Patricia Hodder, Marilyn Pittman (John), Martina Doucette (Wayne), Corina Tanner, Karen Coles (Tom), Janette Woods (Lewis), Jerry Young, Everett Young (Beverly), Alphonsus Young (Mary), Clarence Young (Debbie) and Tony Young (Kay); and her siblings-in-law, Gerald Gilbert (Leona), Ivan Gilbert (Carol), Lee Gilbert, Madeline Bartlett (Carl) and Linda Gilbert. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

As expressions of sympathy, in keeping with Winnie's giving nature, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the local Food Bank.
