He was predeceased by: his wife Donalda Strickland; his sisters, Florence Vater (James) and Mame Guy (Clarence); and his brothers-in-law, Howard Ruth, William Ruth and Wallace Ruth.

He is survived by: his son Dean Strickland (Heather); his grandson William Strickland; his sister Nina Joyce (David); and his sisters-in-law, Lydia Ruth, Marion Ruth and Blanche Ruth. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
