He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick Gallant and Adeline Gallant; his brother Walt; and his nephews, Elliott Gallant, Wesley Bennett and Jimmy Russell.
He is survived by: his siblings, Dan (Josephine), Howard, Pat (Gloria), Les (Mary), Gord (Paula), Charlie (Nadine), Matilda Ball, Genevieve Bennett, Rose George (Isaac), Mary Ellen Gilbert (Doug), Pauline Russell (Dave) and Maggie Bennett (Jason); his sister-in-law Nora McCarthy; and his family, Patrick and Adeline. He is also survived by his siblings, his many nieces and nephews and their children.
As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish in Benoit's Cove.
