He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Sheppard and Irene Sheppard; his son Roger; his parents-in-law, George and Mary Kendell; his siblings, Gerald, Harold, Eric, George, Dorothy, Florence and Barbara; and his siblings-in-law, Gerald, Garf, Bud, Terry, Frank, Leonard, Grace, Evelyn and Cora.

He is survived by: his wife Madonna; his sons, Darren (Claudine), Todd (Judy) and David (Viola); his grandchildren, Neil, Natasha (Peter), Matthew, Darren (Laura), Ryan, Carrie, Nathan, Aimee and Nolan; his siblings, Catherine (Larry) and Ivan; and his siblings-in-law, Bernice (Bill), Joy, Wanda (Fred), Debbie (Brent), Sherry (Randy), Marina, Hazel, Christine, Clarence (Wendy) and Wade (Kit). He is also survived by several great grandchildren.

As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Roy's memory to a charity of one's choice.
