She is survived by: her husband Carl Simms; her children, Sara (Donnie) and Kale (Jalene); her siblings, Locke (Don), Mary Issacs (Bob), Elizabeth Kirby, Pat Mauger (Art), Dorothy Phalan, Ann Kirby, Stella Kirby, Ray Kirby (Jacki) and Clem Kirby Richard (Lou-Anne); her mother-in-law Sarah Simms; her brother-in-law Stephen Simms (Marlene); her close friends, Rita Payne and Willie Loder; her brothers, Tom and Frank Kirby; her brothers-in-law, Rick Forester and Bill Phalan; and her father-in-law Phillip Simms.

As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Jean's memory to the Corner Brook Palliative Care Unit.
