He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Ryan and Mary Ryan; and his brother Kevin Ryan. He is survived by: his siblings, Noreen Whelan (Jerry), Terry Ryan (Patricia), Elaine Ryan of Delta, B. C., Patrick Ryan, Gemma Walsh (Wayne), Murray Ryan (Darlene), Kitchener, Pius Ryan (Kim) of Surry, B. C. and Caroline Ryan of Vancouver, B. C.; his nieces and nephews, Craig Whelan (Laura), Greg Ryan, Andrew Ryan (Alix), Cyril Walsh (Krista), Colin Walsh (Jackie), Rochelle Ryan (Paul), Robyn Weaver (Ian), Renee Ryan and Marti DeCoine; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Julie, Joe, Jenny, Jemma, Sully, Drew Walsh and Maia Ryan. He is also survived by many cousins, other relatives and friends.
