He was predeceased by: his parents, Stewart Hounsell and Lydia Hounsell; his siblings, Ruby Gould, Dorothy Seaward, Bruce Hounsell, John Hounsell and Clyde Hounsell; and his stepson Rick Wells.

He is survived by: his significant other Nola Wells; his son Christopher (Heidi); his grandchildren, Brodie and Sierra; and his stepchildren, Morris (Trudy), Bill (June), Craig (Debbie), Doug (Marlene), Bernetta Colbourne (Aubrey) and Kitty Wells.

As expressions of sympathy, flowers are accepted, or memorial donations in memory of Lewis can be made to the Shiners Mazol Temple.
