He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald and Mercedes; and his sister Maureen Kowalchuk. He is survived by: his wife Paulette; his sons, Patrick (Dannelle) and Gerald Reaching; his siblings, Joanne (Kelly Hogan) and Michael (Dorothy); and his brothers-in-law, Bruce Mitchell (Marie), Byron Mitchell (Gloria) and Hal Mitchell (Donna).
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer (15 Mt Bernard Ave, Corner Brook, NL A2H6K6).
In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund will be set up in James memory in the future where donations can be made.
