She was predeceased by: her husband Pierce Carter; and her parents, Newman Payne and Winnifred Payne. She is survived by: her children, Marion, Hazel (Norm) and Allan; her grandchildren, Heather, Lesley, Scott, Christopher and Matthew; her great grandchildren, Chelsey, Connor, Madison, Allison, Cohen, Teagan, Ryder and Sage; and her brother Hughie (Rose). She is also survived by her nieces, nephews and extended relatives.
