It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Evelyn Jean Sparkes of Corner Brook, Newfoundland, who passed away on April 18, 2021, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Foster Sparkes; her children, Maxwell, Robert Sparkes, Margaret Pretty and Barbara Brake; her parents, Arthur Pike and Ethel Pike; and her siblings, Harold, Bram, Cecil, Arthur, Samuel Pike, Mildred Clarke, Irene Rideout, Mary Hiscock and Myrtle Clarke.

She is survived by: her children, Betty Seymour (Randy) and Howard Sparkes (Ivy); her children-in-law, Francie Brake, Daphne Sparkes and Imelda Sparkes; her grandchildren, Cheryl (Randy), Karen (Levi), Linda (Scott), Howard (Cande), Wayne, Valerie, Charlotte (Harry), Stephen (Melissa), Sharon (Doug), Brian, Jacqui, Leanne (Bill), Shawn (Maxine), Sara (Jeff), Shem (Bailey) and Jeremy (Natasha); and her siblings, Geraldine Spare of Boston, Mass. and Frank Pike (Audrey). She is also survived by 35 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation to a maximum of 20 people in compliance with Covid-19 Government restrictions will take place at Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Tuesday, April 20 from 2-4 p. m. facemasks and physical distancing required.

As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army Temple Memorial Fund.
