He was predeceased by: his father-in-law Jim McDonald; his parents, Elijah Allen and Eileen Allen (Snooks); his siblings, Russell, Max Allen and Beulah Murley; and his parents-in-law, Margaret McDonald (Robertson), Edward McDonald, Bernard McDonald, Dave Gallant, Denny Callahan, Ted Bale, Frank Dower, John Dicks and Jack Coombs.

He is survived by: his wife Pauline (McDonald); his children, Sean Allen (Fort McMurray), Kelly (Jeff) and Glenn (Karen); his grandsons, Gregory Browning (Nicole) and Ian Browning (Breanna); his great grandchildren, Chase, Noah, Lacey and Joseph; his stepgrandchildren, Lisa (Rob), Bryenton and William Rumbolt; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Jamie, Jodie and Allie; his siblings, Reg, Ina Earle (George), Calvin (Donna), Shirley Dicks, Jean Hamlyn (Eugene), Linda Coombs and Rhonda Porter; and his parents-in-law, Juanita Dower, Mike McDonald (Pat), Ishbelle Leblanc (Gilbert), Judy Bale, Loretta Gallant, Ken McDonald (Mary), Arlene McDonald, Lorne Murley, Cassie Allen and Carrie McDonald. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
