He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Rosalind; his children, Judy Barnes (Harold) and Greg Scott (Melissa); his grandsons, Jason Barnes, Adam Barnes and Gavin Scott; his brothers, Eldred (Louise) and Neil; his mother-in-law Frances Rideout; and his siblings-in-law, Roy (Zita), Rita (Cliff), Reuben (Vera), Menzel (Lorraine), Louise (Lorne), Douglas (Annie), Paulette (Craig) and Karen (Gerry). He was also cherished by nieces and nephews and a large circle of extended family and friends.
