He was predeceased by: his parents, James Pittman and Selina Pittman; his siblings, Alfred, Chesley, Stanley and Ina; and his brothers-in-law, Reginald Norman and Fred George.

He is survived by: his wife Elsie Simmons of Hickman's Harbour; his children, Garry (Viona), Glenys (Randy), Elvis (Lily), Sherry (Todd) and Kenny; his grandchildren, Amanda, Stephen, Christopher, Jonathon, David, Michael, Ryan, Danielle, Justin and Deanna; his great grandchildren, Mitchell, Riley, Rhionna, Liam, Landon, Logan, Jersey, Zayden, Rachel, Nathan, Olivia, Jacob, Jordan and Nevaeh; his sister Mary George; and his sisters-in-law, Mildred Pike and Marie Pittman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations greatly accepted for the Salvation Army Citadel, Clarenville.
