We are sad to announce that on October 23, 2021, at the age of 92, Walter John Strickland (Channel-Port-aux-Basques, Newfoundland), born in Rose Blanche, Newfoundland passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bert Strickland and Eva Strickland; his wife Dora; his grandson Randy; his parents-in-law, Thomas and Jessie Bird; his stepmother-in-law Minnie Bird; and his siblings-in-law, Louis Bird (Ada), Cyril Bird (Alice), Frank Bird (Melina), Cecil Bird, Raymond Bird and Alice Bird.
He is survived by: his children, Ruth (Dave), Walter (Leona), Scott (Amanda) of Port, Basques and Linda (James) of Kitchener; his grandchildren, Shane (Crystal) of Lloydminster, AB, Marcus, Lucas of Port, Basques and Ashlee (Carson) of Wabush; his great grandchildren, Madison, Layla, Kiyla of Lloydminster, AB, Rogen LeRiche of Wabush and Labrador; his siblings-in-law, Clayton Bird of Rose Blanche and Frances Bird of Fort McMurray, AB; and his cousin Josie Spencer of Dartmouth, NS. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends.
