It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Francis (Channel-Port-aux-Basques, Newfoundland), who passed away on October 24, 2020, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Lawrence and Sarah Lawrence; her husband Freeman; her former husband Clifford Coleman; her parents-in-law, Emmanuel and Rosanna Francis; her siblings, Victor Lawrence, Joseph Lawrence (Vera), Jack Lawrence and Mary Jane Harvey (Leslie); and her siblings-in-law, Ralph Francis, Henry Francis (Phyllis), Wallace Pearce, Doug Hiscock and Geraldine Francis.

She is survived by: her children, Vicky Durnford (Wendell) and Kay Coleman (Marty); her grandchildren, Dawn Harvey (Johnny), Clifford Harvey (Krista), Josh Durnford and Emily Durnford; her great grandchildren, Victoria Seymour, Emma Richards, Anna Harvey and Karla Harvey; her siblings, Kenny Lawrence (Ruth), May Hiscock and Ivy Herridge (Ed); and her siblings-in-law, Max Francis, Nina Pearce, Dorothy Ingram (Will), Elizabeth Francis and Melita Lawrence. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
