She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Warren and Mary Ann Warren; her husband Francis Ward Bird; her father-in-law Thomas; her stepmother Minnie Bird; her siblings, Freeman Warren (Josie), Ronald Warren, George Warren, Menora Shears (Norman), Rosanna Warren and Dorothy Warren; and her siblings-in-law, Cyril Bird (Alice), Lewis Bird (Ada), Raymond Bird, Harold Turner, Jim Bird, Thomas Bird, Dora Strickland and Alice Bird.
She is survived by: her children, Dora Durnford (Guy) of Paradise, NL, Mary Furey (Murdock) of Reserve Mines, NS, Roberta Young (Raymond) of Rose Blanche, NL, Joselyn Hardy (George) of Rose Blanche, NL and Jason Bird (Kimberly) of Moncton, NB.; her grandchildren, Frank Scott (Kimberly), Michael (Lisa), Fritz Scott (Melanie), Raylene MacDonald (Lorenzo), Diane Durnford (Dion), Robbie Young (Jaimi), Lorne Durnford (Tzu), Carter Bird and Matthew Bird; her sister Leah Turner of Glace Bay, NL; and her sister-in-law Frances Bird of Fort McMurray, AB. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in memory of Melinda was be made to the charity of one's choice.
