He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Buttery and Hannah Buttery; his wife Jessie Buttery (Nee Anderson); his children, Terry and Helen; his siblings, Richard, Clyde, James (Ada), Mary Osmond (Hughie) and Annie (Norris); his siblings-in-law, Thomas Francis, Charlie Anderson (Lorena), Jack Anderson (Geraldine) and Nora Anderson; and his parents-in-law, John and Emmaline (Nee Green).

He is survived by: his children, Phyllis Savery (William), Ken Buttery (Jackie Keeping), Darlene Keeping (John) and Monica Carroll (Brent); his son-in-law Lloyd Burridge; his grandchildren, Samatha, Krista, Heather, Paul and Natasha; his great grandchildren, Marissa, Kiersten, Bria, Karya, Mya, Wyatt, Kaleb and Meika; his sister Betty Francis; and his siblings-in-law, Corwin Anderson, Winnie Buttery and Mary Buttery. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
