He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Charles Samuel Matthews; his sister Florence Carter (Bill); his parent-in-law James Squarey (Mildred); his wife Joanne Matthews; his sons, Darrell Matthews (Leeanne) of Moncton, NB and Jamie Matthews of Moncton, NB; his grandchildren, Nicholas and Zachary; his mother Susie Matthews; his sister Coleen Fudge (Eric); and his siblings-in-law, Elaine Battiste (Willard), Sharon Squarey (Robert Hyatt) of London, Ont and Arthur Squarey (Dianne) of St. John. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many friends.
