Clarissa (Classie) Porter Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clarissa (Classie) Porter (Channel-Port-aux-Basques, Newfoundland), who passed away on March 8, 2022, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Herritt and Elsie Herritt; her husband Allan George Porter; her parents-in-law, Lewis and Bessie Porter; her siblings, Wyndell, Phillip, Isaac, Suzanna, Eva, Hazel and Irene; and her siblings-in-law, Maud, Gilbert, Frank, Cecil and Claude.
She is survived by: her children, George Porter (Maryanne) and Maisie Payne (George); her grandchildren, Allan (Jennifer), Georgette, Clarissa Simpson and Catherine Patterson (Grant); her great grandchildren, Matthew, Emily, Jenna, Madison, Abbi, Maddy, Camden, Caydence, Avery, Jacob, Ryder, Caiden, Callie, Clara and Charlotte; her siblings, Ruth Wells (Gerald), Christina MacDonald, Thomas Herritt (Shirley), James Herritt, Ephrim Herritt (Eileen) and John Herritt; and her sisters-in-law, Leona Billiard (Robert), Diane Hewitt (Aaron) and Rose Haley (Alan). She is also survived by nieces, nephews and many many friends.
Due to the latest government regulations, your Newfoundland VaxPass, photo lD, masks, and social distancing are required for entry to the visitation and church service.
Flowers graciously accepted or donations in memory of Classie can be made to St. James Anglican Church.
