He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick George Chaffey of Change Islands and Fanny Helena Chaffey of Harbour Breton; his siblings, Mildred Decker (Reginald), Faith Gale (Alvin), Ruby and Lorne (Ruby); and his brother-in-law Norman.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth; his children, Kim Chaffey (Gerry Cote) and Kent Chaffey (Carolyn); his grandchildren, Michael, Alex, Alyssa (Scott), Christie, Sophia and Martina; and his great grandchildren, Dante, Aleena, Dominic and Kayden. He is also survived by many family members and friends.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in his memory to the Lionel Kelland Hospice.
