He was predeceased by: his parents, Hedley Brenton and Winnifred Brenton; his sisters, Shirley Smith and Jacqueline Coats; his siblings-in-law, Eli Rideout, Hubert Head and Maisie Brenton; his parents-in-law, Alfred Pickett and Emma Pickett; and his nephew Jason Pickett.

He is survived by: his wife Nita; his children, Jerome (Lori) of Trinity and Tina (Jamie) of St. John; his grandchildren, Jeremy Brenton of Fort McMurray, Shawna Brenton and Jason Waterman of St. John; his siblings, Bernice Rideout of Gander, Christine Head of Gander Bay, Myrtle Holloway (Gerry) of Labrador City, Clarence Brenton of Gander Bay and Leo Brenton (Terry) of Ontario; his brothers-in-law, Alfred Pickett (Sadie) of St. John, Brian Smith of Welmont, NS and Maxwell Coats of Gander Bay; his nephews, Jonathan Pickett (Nicole), Brayden and Ben; and his niece Emma. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
