He was predeceased by: his brother Dwayne Gillingham; his nephew Dwayne Gillingham; and his siblings-in-law, Johnnie Attwood and Verley Coles. He is survived by: his wife Deborah; his children, Kayla (Chris Kearley) of Ft. McMurray, AB. and Christopher (Samantha) of Ft. McMurray, AB.; his granddaughter Jasmine Kearley; his parents, Chesley Gillingham and Grace Gillingham of Noggin Cove; and his siblings, Geraldine (Danny Forward) of Tizzard's Harbour, Betty (Rodney Harbin) of Gander Bay, Doreen of Gander, Timothy (Shirley) of Gander Bay, Rodrick (Roxie) of Noggin Cove and Eric (Kelly) of Noggin Cove. He is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
