With solemn reverence, we commemorate Sadie Winnifred Bishop (Carbonear, Newfoundland), whose life came to an end on April 4, 2025 at the age of 90, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her mother Winnie (Taylor Porter); her husband Walter; her parent Taylor; her children, Sylvia and Gordon; and her siblings, Myrtle, Ada, Bill, Cecil and Bert.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Gruchy (Tom), Phyllis Chipman (Wayne), Daphne Carroll (Ron), Glenda Seymour (Juan), Lisa Delaney (David) and Gary Bishop (Lori); and her sisters-in-law, Marion Elliott and Phyllis Porter. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, her nieces, nephews, and a large circle of friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Slade's Funeral Home (31 Powell Dr, Carbonear, NL A1Y1A5). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Salvation Army Bay Roberts. A burial was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 at the Salvation Army Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in her loving memory to the Salvation Army, Bay Roberts.
