She was predeceased by: her husband John Gear; her daughter Catherine Gear; and her parents, Howard Dwyer and Martha Dwyer. She is survived by: her children, John Gear (Elaine), Glen Gear (Alison), Wanda Smith, Stephen Gear (Joanne) and Michael Gear; her grandchildren, Billie, Ronnie (Colby), Sarah, Matthew, Emily, Olivia, Madison, Liam, Jessica and Jordan (Coral); her great grandchildren, James, Georgie, Zaylee, Oaklynn, Casey and Jace; her siblings, Ann McDonald, Dorothy Murray, Denise Harris (Maxwell) and Howard Dwyer; her parents-in-law, Alexander and Catherine Gear; her sisters, Loretta Brent (Selby), Brenda Curran (Dominic) and Mary Gear (Michael); and her siblings-in-law, Maurice McDonald, Philip Murray, Kathleen Kavanagh (Jack), Margaret Marshall (Richard), Mary-Alice Carney (William), Michael Gear (Mary), Edward Gear (Alice), Alexander Gear and Thomas Gear (Marion).

Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Slade's Funeral Home (31 Powell Dr, Carbonear, NL A1Y 1A5). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM.
