She was predeceased by: her husband Ephraim; her grandson Cory Laing; her grandson-in-law Patrick 'PJ Shea; her son-in-law Charles 'Chuck MacNeill; and her parents, Augustus Oates and Annie Oates.
She is survived by: her siblings, Eben, Jack, Joseph, Winston, Gertrude, Janet, Betty, Dulcie and Maxine; her children, Eugene (Eva), Conception Bay South, Ephraim Jr. (Sharon), Carter (Valerie), Robin (Katherine), Judy MacNeill, Philip (Sharon), Alberta, Joan Whalen (Keith), Neil (Janet) and Hope; her grandchildren, Stephen Laing (Kara), Christopher Laing (Claudette), Christine Evans (James), Lisa Shea, Jennifer Pitaoulis (Kirk), Mathieu MacNeill, Michael MacNeill (Christina), Susan Malcolm (Nigel), Jacqueline Laing, Joshua Laing, Kathleen Inman (Jeremy), Allison Keats (Matthew) and Ashley Aird (Tyler); and her great grandchildren, Ainsley, Alex Laing, Connor, Clarke Laing, Ethan, Lauren Evans, Patrick, William Shea, Eli, Leo Pitaoulis, Avery, Ashton MacNeill, Lennon, Eilidh Malcolm, Molly and Emelia Inman. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of friends.
