We are sad to announce that on June 3, 2024, at the age of 92, James Joseph Prendergast in Carbonear, Newfoundland passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, James Prendergast and Alice Prendergast (Lyons); and his siblings, Pat, Geoffrey, Michael, Tom, Ann, Sarah Gibbons and Bridget O'Connell.

He is survived by : his wife Patricia (Mackey); his children, James (Jane) and Patricia Power (Randy); his grandchildren, Sara Smith (Steve) and Erin Prendergast; and his sisters, Mary Whalley and Alice Garsed.

Visitation was held on Thursday, June 6th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Slade's Funeral Home (31 Powell Dr, Carbonear, NL A1Y 1A5). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, June 7th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. Patrick's R. C. Church (17 St Clare Ave, Carbonear, NL A0A1T0).

In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy donations may be made in his loving memory to St. Patrick's R.C. Church or the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank.
