He was predeceased by: his father William; his siblings, John (Madeline), Frank, Shirley Butler (Sidney), Doreen Morrissey, Florence Gushue, Victoria Stanley (David) and Sharon Fewer; and his mother Tina Power.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his children, Mona Mercer (Allan) and Bill (Roybnn); his grandson Damian Mugford; his stepgrandchildren, Carter Royal, Jonathan Hawco and Kathryn Hawco; his sister Mary Bartlett (Arch); and his siblings-in-law, Aiden Morrissey, George Gushue, Joseph Fewer and Margarite Barnes.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Broughton's Memorial Chapel.
