He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Patey and Annie Patey; his daughter Susan Drake; his grandson Derek Patey; and his siblings, George Patey, Norman Patey (Jane), Mary Hodder (Alexander) and Gertrude Patey.
He is survived by: his wife Gertrude; his children, Annie Patey of Port, Russell Patey (Shirley) of Yarmouth, NS, Elizabeth Hurlbert (Donnie) of Yarmouth, NS, Loretta Osmond (Chris) of Port, Alice Patey of Port, Gladys Martell (Blair) of Halifax and Stephen Patey of Port; his siblings, Emily Short and Isaac Patey (Nora) of Cape Ray; and his sisters-in-law, Ruth LeRiche of Port and Minnie Paddock (Charlie) of Yarmouth. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren.
