He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard and Lillian; his sisters, Joan and Yvonne; and his brother-in-law Jim Hodder.
He is survived by: his wife Madeline; his son Mark (Carla Brushett) of Burin; his grandchildren, Mason and Randi-Lee; his siblings, Holly (Ken Ferguson) and Randy Kirby (Diane); his brother-in-law Cyril; and his godson Darren Crocker. He is also survived by nephews and nieces and family and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations in Melvin's memory may be made to the family.
