He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard and Lillian; his sisters, Joan and Yvonne; and his brother-in-law Jim Hodder.
He is survived by: his wife Madeline; his son Mark (Carla Brushett) of Burin; his grandchildren, Mason and Randi-Lee; his siblings, Holly (Ken Ferguson) and Randy Kirby (Diane); his brother-in-law Cyril; and his godson Darren Crocker. He is also survived by nephews and nieces and family and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 28th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Serenity Funeral Home (95 Main St, Burin Bay Arm, NL A0E 1G0). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Serenity Chapel (95 Main St, Burin Bay Arm, NL A0E 1G0). A burial was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 at the Bethany United Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations in Melvin's memory may be made to the family.
