We are sad to announce that on March 22, 2022, Ruby Riggs of Brownsdale, Newfoundland passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Eli Hopkins and Sarah Jane Hopkins; her son David; her siblings, Abram (Doll), Fred (Mary), Sterling Hopkins, Clara Matthews (Willis) and Annie Hopkins (Ariel); and her siblings-in-law, William Riggs, Wilfred Riggs (Dot), Mary Jane Fanjoy (Roy) and Alice Henderson.
She is survived by: her husband Melvin; her daughters, Valerie Piercey (Junior) and Cheryl Noonan (Eddie); her grandchildren, Kimberley Rodgers (Nelson Butler), Ryan Piercey (Tiffany), Cassandra Gidge (Jessica), Caitlin Fauth (Taylor) and Zachary Noonan; her great grandchildren, Brandon Piercey, Brady Rodgers and Keira Rodgers; her stepgrandchildren, Laura Coates (Jimmy), Courtney Thorne (Chris) and Brian Coates (Alisha); her sisters-in-law, Lizzie Hopkins, Ruth Riggs and Josie Hopkins; and her niece Judy King. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers are greatly appreciated or a donation may be made in Ruby's memory to Brownsdale United Church Cemetery Fund, Brownsdale or to a charity of one's choice.
