It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Shirley Elizabeth Hemeon (Botwood, Newfoundland), who passed away on September 24, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Scott; her children, Keith, Wayne and Christine; her parents, James Smith and Kathleen Smith; and her siblings, Kitchener Smith, Norma Woodside and Phyllis Yates.
She is survived by: her daughters, Malinda Byrne (Dan), Wanda Parsons (Wayne), Cindy Jewer (Barry) and Laurie Gardener (Bill); her daughter-in-law Lynette (late Keith Hemeon); her siblings, Barbara Bishop, Joyce Noseworthy (Bud), Valda Smith (Bill), Wayne Smith (Denise), Randy Smith (Lisa) and Gary Smith (Linda); her siblings-in-law, Beaton Yates and Gladys Smith; her grandchildren, Glenn Jones, Tim Byrne (Tallyia), Jeff Byrne (Natasha), Shellie Jewer (Chris) and Marc Jewer (Megan); her stepgrandchildren, Alexis Berkis (Zach) and Stephanie Gardener (Crissy); and her great grandchildren, Jack, Westyn, Blair, Payton, Max, Joshua, Averie and Yiannis.
In addition to the prescribed COVID-19 restrictions, the family are kindly requesting that each person who wishes to visit them at the funeral home to keep their visit 10 minutes or less, in an effort to give each person wanting to visit a chance to see the family.
