He was predeceased by: his parents, Valentine Freake and Esther Freake; his sons, Edward and Jerry Freake; his granddaughter Angel; and his siblings, Wilson, Ronald, Simon, Edward, Howard, Andrew, Pearl and Nellie.

He is survived by: his wife Eileen Wells; his children, Peter (Miranda), Brian, Melvina (Don), Mollie (Kelly), Jennifer (Dwayne), Lori-Ann (Derrick) and Laura (Kirk); and his daughter-in-law Rhonda Freake. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren;33 great grandchildren.
