George Pierce Pope Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George Pierce Pope (Botwood, Newfoundland), who passed away on December 11, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip Pope and Julia Pope; his in-laws, Sidney and Annie Keats; his siblings, Arkless, Wesley, Leonard, Blanche, Lillian and Marie; and his daughter Geraldine.
He is survived by: his wife Violet Pope; his children, Edward Pope (Linda), George Pope (Louise), Stanley Pope (Tammy), Jimmy Pope (Michelle), Randy Pope, Derrick Pope, Annie Hynes (Joe) and Brenda Pope (Scott); and his sister Edith Sheppard. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relative and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Hoskins Funeral Home (271 Water St, Botwood, NL A0H1E0). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 1:00 PM.
