He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles and Mary (Dunphy); and his sister Dorothy Barry. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn (Dalley); his children, Peter (Melinda) and Myra (Trevor Budgell); his grandsons, Matthew and Nicholas; his siblings, Tom (Yvonne), Bill, Joe, Rose (Andrew Benoit) and Bride; and his siblings-in-law, Neville (Faye), Angus (Marlene), Edgar (Joan), Carilyn (Bill McBurney), Ellen (Larry Jones) and Jennifer (Brian Hemeon). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and a large circle of extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Saint John the Baptist Church or to the Canadian Heart Association.
