James Arthur Vokey Obituary

Arthur James Curtis (Jim) Vokey, October 09, 1935 - 03 March 2021 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Arthur James Curtis (Jim) Vokey of Bishop's Falls announce his passing on 03 March 2021 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. He was 85 years of age. Jim loved life and all that it held.

After he retired from Wooddale Tree Nursery he had time to live life simply. He loved the outdoors and found much enjoyment in berry picking, rabbit catching and fishing. Jim was well known to many and enjoyed the companionship of friends whom he met on the highway of his life. He was a gentle soul who's time had come to leave this earth.

Many will remember him for his sense of humor, the kindness he displayed to all, and the strength of the love he had for his family. Jim was predeceased by parents, William Vokey and Doris (Barnes) Vokey, sibings, William, Irene, Clayton and Earl. He will be sadly missed by his loving children Sheila (Calvin) and Colleen (Casey), grandchildren Tiffany, Dylan and Jessica (Jon) Burt, as well as 4 great- grandchildren, Mason, Hannah, Charlotte and Jaxin.

Also leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his siblings Doris Penton, Wallace (Bridget) and Grace (Michael) Collins, along with numerous relatives and friends. Service will be for family only with interment at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Bishop's Falls. Pallbearers are Wallace Vokey, Jr., Harold Snow, Casey Grant, Trevor Reid, Neil O'Reilly and Patrick O'Reilly.
