He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Fitzgerald and Phyllis Fitzgerald; his siblings, Paul, Tuck, Patricia and Sharon; his close friend Ned Miller; and his brothers-in-law, Gord Butler and Bren Power.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret Fitzgerald; his sons, Paul (Dorothy), Tim (Peggy) and Christopher (Annette); his grandchildren, Ryan (Alicia), Bailey, Brittney, David and Julie; his great grandchildren, Connor and Kennedy; his sisters, Janet Power and Heather Brynes (Bob); and his siblings-in-law, Emma Butler, Selena Craig (Bob), Dot Miller, Margie Fitzgerald (Bennett) and Bill Miller (Linda). He is also survived by extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in his loving memory to the Bay Roberts Lions Club.
